hi, I’m Rebecca.
I’m a licensed mental health counselor, coach, consultant, and mental health equity advocate.
I received my BA in Psychology from Northwest Nazarene University in 2006 and my MA in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School in 2012. I’ve worked at every level care in eating disorder treatment settings, and served as the CEO for the leading national eating disorder nonprofit Project HEAL from 2020-2024. My work at Project HEAL provided me with an opportunity to become a leading expert on eating disorders and barriers to treatment access, particularly in a social justice context.
I bring my personal lenses as queer person, an intersectional feminist, and a long-time therapy client myself into my work. I practice from a trauma-informed, gender-affirming, anti-racist, sex-positive, and weight-inclusive perspective with deep consideration for marginalized identities and the impact of systemic oppression on individual and collective mental health.
In my free time, you are likely to find me traveling, hogging the mic at karaoke, listening to true crime podcasts, cooking elaborate new recipes, watching standup comedy, and buying books I may or may not read. I live just outside New York City in Montclair, New Jersey with my pug, George.
